La Esquina Cevicheria
I found La Esquina Cevicheria the same way I find almost everything else: On Instagram, it looked great and it had been a while since I had Peruvian so I went with a few friends to check it out. My first impression was great: a family was sitting outside sharing a meal family style( everybody tries everything) I immediately felt at home. The food was great, but for some reason, I never made it back, and when some friends came to visit and said they would love some ceviche, I knew where to go!
Between my two visits, La Esquina changed locations and menu, but one thing remained great: the quality of the food. This time there were more of us, so we decided to order different things, family style if you will, and through raw, and cooked fish, appetizers, and meat platters, we were all blown away! The ceviche tasted fresh and the flavors were pouring out of it, and my fried fish was crispy, but tender, with the mix of veggies makes for a super light dish, the kind you can eat all day without feeling bad about it. These guys know how to cook!
And if I can give you one more tip is: go for the pisco sour. You may not need it, but a dose of pisco makes life better, trust me on that one. I have to add that the food took a while to come through, but I honestly don't mind waiting for good food. The staff was also super accommodating about food preferences and super patient with our orders.
If you haven't been yet, you should!
