Bistro De Marquez
Where Colombian Cuisine Warms the Heart
I first met Pietat through a friend. With a personal connection to Brazil, I was curious to meet her. From the moment I walked in and received the biggest hug, I felt instantly at home. Pietat asked what I wanted to eat and how I preferred it, and I initially thought she was being extra nice because of our mutual friend. I couldn't have been more wrong.
Pietat treats everyone with the same kindness and warmth, minus the hug. Her energy is boundless, and after knowing her for many years, I've discovered her secret: her soul is much bigger than her size. Pietat infuses so much love into her cooking that you can't help but leave the restaurant feeling like part of her family.
She takes the time to chat with you if you allow it, and she can sense if you're having a bad day, just like a mom. And her food! Everything is freshly cooked and delicious. From beans and lentils to arepas and cake with mango avocado sauce (OMG) – it's Colombian cooking at its finest. Every dish is good for your health and soul.
Pietat is incredibly flexible with her dishes; whether you prefer spicy or mild, meat or vegetarian, she will do her best to please. So next time you need soul food, visit Pietat at Bistro de Marquez. You'll leave with a full stomach and a little piece of her soul.
