Platz am See

Have you ever been to a lake and realized that not only most of the swimming spots around the lake are private but they are also usually empty? It can be especially annoying on a hot weekend when half the city tries to squeeze a spot in the public swimming areas.

That is exactly what inspired Kenny and julian to start Platz am See. The idea is simple and genius: make private lake properties accessible to the public. With Platz am See you can book a private lake property for the day.

The process is easy: you book the perfect property on their website (they have also just enabled same-day bookings) and get an email with all the information such as nearby parking, restrooms, etc...

Most properties have locks that allow easy and automated access and that's it! You get to enjoy your lake day with as much or as little privacy as you wish. (we did not say skinny dipping but you do you!)

There are currently six properties available around Salzburg at

• Wallersee
• Mondsee
• Mattsee
• and Wolfgangsee

The properties have a limit of permitted people in order to avoid overcrowding, but in case you want to share it with a couple more friends that can be communicated before the booking and organized directly with the guys depending on the property.

Sounds cool? It does to us! I would hurry to book a property if I were you, we all know Salzburg's summers are beautiful but incredibly short!
