Best Secret Date Spot in Salzburg

Sometimes good food, a bottle of wine and a breathtaking view is all you need to create a magical moment. Enjoy your date in Salzburg and don't blame me if the other person falls in love with you.

I was asked last week if I knew what a good place to go on a date in Salzburg is, and sure, I know many good restaurants where you can take someone on a first date, but it rememberd me of a first date I had a long time ago. And if I were to take someone on a first date again I would do the exact same thing.

Now you will ask me what made that date so special. The guy was nice but to me the whole idea of the date was pretty authentic (it helped that I had just moved to Salzburg at that time). So, get your notebook ready, you will want to write this down.

First of all we grabbed some pizzas at the Linzergasse. Now this step is open to variations. You can also get some sushi to go, maybe a nice Vietnamese sandwich at the Theatergasse, coffee and cake for a day date … the options are unlimited. And yes, pizza always works.

Now this is where the magic hapens. Be prepared! When the guy unpacked a bottle of wine, a blanked and two wine glasses I thought wow, this guy has put a lot of thoughts into this. Could also be that he just had a lot of practise but oh well, it made me feel special.

Go up the Kapuzinerberg and sit on one of the roofs. It might not sound that comfortable but the thrill of the fake imminent danger and the breathtaking view do all the work for you.

Now, this works at any time of the day really, but sunset gets you extra points. And maybe pack an extra jacket or blanket as it can get cold ouside in the night. And there you have it.
