Flavourama 2024

Flavourama is kicking off this weekend! If you’re new to the city or have been living under a rock, let me fill you in: Flavourama is one of Europe’s leading Hip Hop and House Dance festivals, and like Mozart, it was born right here in Salzburg. Now in its 16th edition, the festival attracts dancers from all over the globe. With a full week of workshops, parties, and the highly anticipated battle, it creates the perfect space to celebrate street and club culture.

In a city where thousands of tourists still line up to snap photos in front of a certain yellow house, it’s even more impressive to see a Hip Hop festival redefining the meaning of culture. The two artistic directors behind Flavourama, Farah Deen & Olivia Mitterhuemer have worked tirelessly over the years to shift the narrative around how street culture is perceived and embraced in Salzburg. They've raised awareness and strengthened their community by bringing relevant discussions to the public with "Voices" and ensuring a lasting legacy for future dancers through the "Next Generation Battle," happening this year at the Museum der Moderne.

Now, on to the Battle: some of the best dancers of our generation will go head-to-head, showing off their best moves to the beats of out-of-this-world DJs (Mab’ish and Tijo Aimé) and super cool hosts. Plus, a TTAT crossover afterparty at Jazzit—a night so cool, that it will have you breaking for months.
